The mission of APASU is to increase the level of awareness and consciousness of Asians and APIA at Old Dominion University. APASU serves as the voice for ODU's APIA community by working in collaboration with other organizations and cultures.

ACE Revelation
Gameshow Night
Gameshow night portrayed a lot of Asian style themed games. We played a game where each team member had a pair of earphones and had to guess the word and draw it out on a white board and guess what your touching.
Calvin Sun Speaker Event
Calvin D. Sun is a physician in emergency medicine in New York City, Founder and CEO of Monsoon Diaries, and is an active ECAASU and TED Talk representative who came to spoke at ODU. He talked about his experiences with his medical school path, his struggle with his identity and advice on love life and finding what you what foar your future.
Anh Chi Em Program (Big/Little)

A night dedicated to revealing the Bigs to their Littles. This is a night for Bigs and littles to meet and get to know each other officially as well as hang out with other fellow members and individuals who are a part of the same family.

This year's theme is Western theme. Littles are given clues to find their bigs.
Multicultural Night
Holiday Potluck/White Elephant
Holiday Potluck/White Elephant is a fun Christmas sweatshirt themed event right before Winter break. There were a lot of activities like White Elephant, which was a fun gift exchange, a game where you had to open the box with mitts, a game where you grabbed items with the candy cane hook, and there was also a variety of food.
Every year, we have Multicultural night where we have performances from different cultural organizations that showcase their talent. This year, we had Monarch Key Acapella, SEAD, ISA, and FASA. This event is open to all ODU students and they also enjoyed the information tables that Global Monarch Club, BSA, and JASA offered. Along with some game tables, soak the eboards, pulsera table, and fresh filipino food.
ECAASU
ECAASU is the East Coast Asian American Student Union Conference. This year, it was in Itacha, NY where we meet up with other Asian organizations from different universities around the East Coast and attend workshops about self-identity, cultural differences, cultural awareness, and caucuses.
It's a fun weekend for members to bond and use what they've learned in each workshop and share with others about their experience on this trip. Next year, ECAASU will be in Florida.
Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is our annual celebration to celebrate Chinese New Year. This year we had Jow Ga perform their martial arts and the dragon dance. We also had Halau Kahealani, a Tahitian dance group, perform. FASA performed a filipino cultural dance. There were some games as well, like calligraphy station, fortune teller station, pin the tail on the dog station, and photo booth.
Member's Retreat
Member's Retreat is a weekend of bonding activities with new and returning members. For the past couple of years, we have been going to Cape Charles, VA. We enjoyed homemade food, long walks on the beach, hiking trails, and getting to know one another.
Relay for Life
This is a school wide event to fight for cancer. This year we were selling spam musubis, barbeque chicken, and bubble tea. Each member was walking around the gym to help raise money, There was Luminaria where people were able to purchase a lantern and dedicate to someone they know who have had cancer, participate in games and activities with other organizations as well using the Relay dollars.
FAPVSA Field Day
This is an event we usually have once a year where the Filipino American Student Association, Vietnamese Student Association, and Asian Pacific American Student Union collaborate with each other to create fun games and friendly competition between a mixture of teams of the three organizations.
Halloweenie Hut Jr
This year's costume contest consists of team games such as flip cup, heads up seven up with a twist, guess the Disney character, and make colorful cookies.
Some of the participants dressed up with their big and little pairings and others dressed up with friends.
Loi Krathong
Loi Krathong is a Siamese festival celebrated annually throughout the Kingdom of Thailand and in nearby countries with significant southwestern Tai cultures. We made our boats out of foam and construction paper and incense.
Valentine's Day
This Valentine's Day we celebrated couples and singles. We played a game where we had two teams and one team had to pop the other team's balloon. There was one game where two team members had to carry the balloon with their stomachs and circle around the chairs. There was a game where you had to find your match based on the pair of words. There was another game where it was like charades and you had to guess the song.
Family Game Night
All the ACE families team up and participate in Game night for a grand prize. This year, we had pop the balloon of the opposite family, balloon to balloon around the chairs, song charades, flip the bottle, and take the cookie and place it on your forehead and try to eat it without touching the cookie. It's a fun big and little twist to a regular game night with each of the ACE families!
Yellow Tulip
This is a semi-formal for the members. We announce next year's executive board, we award members for their participation in events, for some superlatives that members vote for, there's good food and good performances from members too. It's a fun way to end the Spring semester after a stressful exam week.
